Here to help you reach your peak performance

PERSONAL COACHING FOR PEAK PERFORMANCE

Are you a dedicated athlete who is struggling to reach your full potential? Do you feel like you’re stuck in a rut? Or have you lost all joy in your sport? Perhaps you are trapped in an unhelpful narrative? Or have you become overwhelmed or anxious when trying to perform? Perhaps you simply want to get better and need some elite guidance and expertise. If this sounds like you, I’m here to help.

My name is Charlotte Taylor, an Olympian, European champion, and world silver medalist. I’m also a qualified coach. As athletes, we thrive off pursuing challenging goals and chasing our dreams. We aim to find “success” and “happiness” through medals and results, often at the expense of all else. But I would like to open your mind to a new narrative. A sporting journey is a journey that can be enriched by curiosity, passion, determination, and personal development. When we combine these four qualities, they are the foundation of a fulfilling and meaningful sporting journey.

Through tailored and personal coaching, I can help you reach your sporting goals. I will help you to identify your true purpose, break down your goals into smaller, more manageable steps, and create a plan to achieve them. I will also help you to overcome any obstacles that you may face along the way.

If you are ready to take your sporting career to the next level, I invite you to contact me. I would be honored to help you reach your sporting goals and live a more fulfilled life.

Testimonials

"Charlie coached me for 2 years at Reading University boat club. She is not only a great coach but a great person and became a true friend. She is dedicated to a level where your goals become her own.  Throughout my sporting career, training at some of the best clubs in not only the country but the world, I have not found a coach more passionate and understanding than Charlie. She provides outstanding technical knowledge, alongside understanding the emotional side of training, which separates her from other high performance coaches. No matter how big or technical your goal is, there is not a better person to support you to achieve success."

Sol Hewitt

U23 representation; HRR Prince of Wales Final 2022.

"It has been great working with Charlie over the past month, I am relatively new to club coaching having only been doing it for a couple of seasons. Coaching sessions alongside Charlie, she has been able to demonstrate to me her detailed knowledge of fine technical points that individuals can correct, but more importantly for me is seeing the techniques she uses to communicate with athletes and her ability to move them from being stuck in their own heads to working as a crew. The biggest takeaway for me has been the way Charlie builds an atmosphere of confidence, encouraging professionalism while still ensuring athletes keep their love for rowing. I highly recommend Charlie, not only as an excellent performance coach for athletes but also as someone who can develop the skills and abilities of coaches."

Toby White

Rowing Coach

"As an elite performance coach, Charlie took the time to understand me as a human being before pushing me to my athletic potential. An integral part of my journey, Charlie’s knowledge helped guide both my psychological, physiological and technical development to an international standard and without her, I question whether many of my rowing achievements would have come to fruition. Any athlete that is mentored by Charlie recognises the need to keep her a part of their athletic journey."

Olly Dix

Athlete - U23 GB representation & HRR finalist

"Charlie helped enable me to excel beyond what I thought was possible for my rowing. Her fun personality that shines through her coaching allowed me to grow in confidence, and enjoy the process of training hard! Her dedication and care to each athlete really does show by her always being there for guidance and support, genuinely caring about each persons goals. She really does understand what it feels like to be an athlete in various situations and how to overcome challenges, ultimately helping me believe that I could row for GB, which I did go on to do at the U23 World and European Championships."

Lauren Maddison

U23 Lightweight Rower European Bronze Medalist

"I had the pleasure of working with Charlie whilst starting at university and working my way up to the GB U23 team. This would not of been possible without her knowledge and advice.  There aren't many coaches out there who can relate to the physical and mental challenges that sport brings. Since leaving university we have utilised Charlie's expertise by getting her to consult around the team around our training programme, nutrition and technical analysis. I would recommend her to anyone looking to take the next step in the sport or career"

"Charlotte Taylor was the Head Coach at Maidenhead RC Juniors Summer Camp in 2022. I knew Charlotte would be the perfect match for the job having seen her coaching at Reading University Boat Club for several years. Such that I couldn’t believe my luck when she accepted my offer for the Maidenhead Juniors. Neither could the Juniors, to be honest! Charlotte has an outstanding rowing pedigree. She is a beautiful rower who only put three years in between stepping in a boat for the first time and being selected for Rio 2016. Incredibly naturally skilled, enthusiastic, positive, encouraging, very hard-working, never scared by a new challenge, understanding the needs of young athletes, wanting to make a difference for them even if only in a week or two. Capable of identifying very quickly areas for improvement and development, willing to offer extra time and help when she realises that the athlete is on board. Calm and reflective, yet always able to provide the perfect explanation for a comment or advice. Such that everybody would take her coaching on board wanting to prove how much it is appreciated and understood. We would have her back at Maidenhead RC in a jiffy if only she would live closer to us!"

Carlotta Marshall

Junior Co-ordinator, Maidenhead Rowing Club

"I started working with Charlie back in 2020 when I first joined RUBC. She then continued to coach me for the next 3 years to a Henley Royal Regatta final, two gold medals for England at the Home Nations Regatta and finally culminating in a Great Britain U23 vest. Charlie is one of those rare coaches who is a one-stop shop for rowing. She has a fantastic technical eye and then delivers feedback in a positive and constructive way, she has a good understanding of boat mechanics and setup to really get the most out of your equipment, and then most importantly is incredible at the mental side of the sport. Charlie’s coaching and guidance really took me from an average schoolboy rower to a top-end sculler challenging international representation. I would highly recommend Charlie’s coaching expertise to anyone considering her."

Josh Lyon

U23 Representation; HRR Prince of Wales final 2022; Double Gold Medalist at Home International Regatta.

"Charlotte was my rowing coach at Reading University for three years. She joined the club at the same time I did and straight away it was obvious how much she cared for her job and more importantly the athletes. She has an incredible knowledge of the technical aspects of sculling which helped me step on as a sculler in the boat. More profoundly though is her ability to understand her athletes and help them improve both technically and physically but also psychologically. She helped me mature as an athlete in all aspects such as recovery, nutrition, sleep. I was lucky enough to have Charlotte as my coach for 3 years and I couldn't recommend her any more highly."
